Frequently Asked Questions

General:

What areas do you cover?

These are the main areas we cover, but if you are outside of these, please ask as we may be able to provide a service for you: South Woodford, Woodford Green, Woodford Bridge, Walthamstow, Chingford. See our areas covered page for more information

Are you insured?

Yes, fully insured and can present this to you at our initial meet and greet consultation. I am also a member of the National Association of Registered Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers (NARPS).

Have you been CRB checked?
Yes, I have had a criminal disclosure check and can present this to you at our initial meet and greet consultation.

Are you first aid trained
Yes, I have completed a pet first aid course which focusses on dogs and cats. Please ask to see my certificate.

Do you care for other kinds of animals?
Our main business is dogs and cats. However, if you own another pet such as a rabbit, hamster, fish etc we can include feeding and fussing (not fish obviously) for this pet too at the same visit, at no extra charge.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Yes, all dogs must be fully vaccinated.

What will happen if my pet takes ill or has an accident.
We will obtain all the important information we require from you including contact details, vet details etc, so in the event of something untoward happening then we can take him/her to either the vet your pet is registered with or an alternative local vet.

How is billing and payment handled?
We accept cash and BACS transfer.
  • Dog boarding: A 25% deposit is payable at the time of booking. The balance is due on (or before if by BACS) the first date of the booking. Where services are required long term we can arrange either weekly or monthly payments.
  • Dog walking/and pet visits: A 25% deposit is payable at the time of booking. Depending on the services required fees can be paid on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

What is your cancellation policy?
  • In the event of cancellations that are notified to us 14 days prior to the start of the booking period, all fees less the non-refundable deposit, will be refunded, or held over for subsequent bookings.
  • Any bookings that are cancelled between 14 days and 48 hours before the start date of the booking, will require 50% payment for services.
  • All bookings cancelled within 48 hours will be payable in full.

Dog walking:

How many dogs do you walk at one time?

We will always try and accommodate what our client wants. Most dogs go on group walks so they can socialise, however, if you want your dog to have an individual walk then we may be able to accommodate that too. We are insured to walk a maximum of six dogs at one time.

Is feeding included in the price of the walk?
Yes, we can include this in the price if required. We will also give your dog fresh water before we leave.

Can you help us reinforce my dog's training?
Yes. If you tell us what commands and exercises you're working on we can practise these with your dog on his walk or when he stays with us.

What are your normal dog walking hours?
Our normal walking hours are between 10am and 3pm, although this can be flexible and tailored to your needs.

Are you available for evening, weekend or Bank Holiday walks?
Yes. Early morning walks before 8am, evening walks after 5pm and weekend walks will carry a 50% surcharge, Bank Holidays carry a 50% surcharge. Christmas, Boxing and New Year's Day carry a 100% surcharge. See our prices page for more information

What if you cannot provide dog walking due to illness or are on holiday?
We will do our best to find alternative cover with one of our dog walking associates.

See the dog walking page for more information on our dog walking service

Dog Boarding:

Are all dogs suitable for boarding?
Unfortunately not. We are only suitable for the average friendly, family dog. We cannot accept any female dogs in season or male dogs that have not been neutered. We cannot accept any dogs with aggressive tendencies or any guard type dogs such as Staffies, Rotweilers, Dobermans or Bull Mastiffs. We also do not accept dogs that have a tendency to jump fences, bark or howl excessively. Sorry!

What will I need to provide for my dog when boarding?
You will need to provide enough food for your dog’s stay, their bed, collar and lead and treats (although we will also provide treats!).

Can you administer medication to my animals while I am away?
Yes. As long as your pet is used to receiving medication and does not pose a threat.

How will we know our pets are OK while we're away?
Feel free to call, email or text us as often as you'd like to find out how they are doing! If arranged beforehand, we can text you at an agreed time to let you know how they are getting on.

What happens if I’m delayed coming back from holiday?
This is not a problem. As long as you let us know we will continue to care for your pet until you return. This may incur an additional cost, depending on the length of delay.

Dog and cat visits:

How many dog or cat visits a day can you make?
As many times as you require. Our services are tailored to work around our clients’ needs.

What's included in a dog pop-in visit or cat visit?
This can include feeding, changing water, brushing and litter tray cleaning (for cats). Your pets will get a chance to play, go outside in the garden if appropriate, and receive lots of affection too! We can also water your plants, open/close curtains, turn on/off lights and bring in your mail/newspapers.
